KHARTOUM (1966)

From the 1966 epic action adventure starring Charlton Heston and Laurence Olivier comes this unique and simply stunning principal hand drawn concept costume design for the lead character 'Major General Gordon - in Patrol Jacket & Overcoat ', portrayed by Charlton Heston.

The design features a full length costume design together and five different smaller designs of costume detailing to the right hand side with attached costume swatches. Executed by hand in fine pencil and water colours by the film's Costume Designer, Bill Carman.

Costume design plays a highly important and integral part in the film making process.

Interestingly, this design was originally on display within the world famous Bermans and Nathans Costumiers head offices in London, who supplied the wardrobe for this and countless other films.
