Charles Knode Archive

Propmasters are proud to have procured ownership of numerous original costume designs and other material from the illustrious career of noted costume designer Charles Knode.

Charles Knode was the Costume Designer on some of cinema’s most significant films, with a career spanning over four decades. Highly respected and regarded within the industry, having worked closely with some of it’s leading Directors. Perhaps most notably he worked with Ridley Scott on three separate incredible productions, starting with one of the most iconic films ever made, 'Blade Runner'.

In 1994 Mel Gibson personally requested to work with him on Braveheart, a film for which Mr Knode received a well deserved BAFTA and an Oscar nomination. An accomplished artist, his costumes designs stand alone as exquisite outstanding works of art with a varying use of pencil, pastels or water colours.
