From the Ridley Scott 2000 epic starring Russell Crowe comes this stunning prop Felix Roman Legionnaire Standard.Such Standards can be clearly seen during the battle sequences of the film.Constructed of a long wooden pole with brass metal crossbar to the top, headed with a large golden spear head. Hanging from the brass bar is the Standard Flag featuring the Lion motif and Felix Legion lettering, all beautifully wire embroidered. Either side of the Flag hangs a thin length of leather decorated with brass studs. Exhibits intentional production battle distress and wear.Only a handful of such Standards were made for production and interestingly this particular example had been reserved for Ridley Scott (hand written name tag to pole) but remained uncollected at Shepperton Studios for many years.A highly identifiable and recognisable piece from this classic blockbuster movie.
