EVIL UNDER THE SUNMaggie Smith Dress

From the 1982 classic Agatha Christie movie, starring Peter Ustinov in the lead role as 'Hercule Poirot', comes this absolutely stunning evening dress made for co-star Maggie Smith as 'Daphne Castle'. The sequence featuring the dress is believed to have been cut from the final edit and as such it unfortunately can not be seen on screen. The dress is exquisitely custom made of a multitude of hand applied metallic sequins and is incredibly heavy. It features an internal body stocking to help support the weight of the dress. The front and back neck lace exhibits signs of wear otherwise in overall very good condition. This costume was kept together with a similar constructed dress for Diana Rigg which was screen used (as previously sold by Propmasters) by the production Costumier subsequent to filming.A stand alone example of stunning film costume design by renowned Costume Designer Anthony Powell.
