CARRY ON CONSTABLECharles Hawtrey Police Jacket

Propmasters are proud to be able to offer this incredibly rare piece of British Carry On film history. The Police Constable Jacket worn by Charles Hawtrey, a Carry On film regular principal actor, throughout his leading role in the film as PC Timothy Gorse.Carry On Constable was the fourth Carry On film made, released in 1960, it was the first to feature future Carry On regular principal actor Sid James. This style/detail of Jacket was totally unique to Charles Hawtrey and would very likely have been the only Jacket used during production. The Jacket can even be clearly screen matched, in particular in one scene where an ingrained mark to the back of the Jacket is visible, as it still is today. Incredibly, the Jacket retains all it's various police insignia plus a Police Whistle with connecting metal link chain. The original Costumier label is also present to the inside rear collar with the actor's name detailed. The inside of the Jacket exhibits signs of wear but overall is in excellent condition.Carry On film pieces rarely surface and this is one of the finest examples we have ever seen on the collectors market.
